Despite some scathing reviews, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is on track to be the biggest movie of the year – taking $34.5 million in its first day alone. With a projected five-day domestic haul of up to $200 million, it’s proof critics simply don’t have a power-up strong enough to stop Mario. Just like its predecessor, which overcame a Rotten Tomato score to gross $1.36 billion in 2023, Galaxy is already smashing records before most people have even seen it. Game on!
