The wait is almost over for Dune fans: Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi trilogy is set to conclude with Dune: Part Three, arriving in cinemas on 18 December 2026. The first trailer has dropped, and it promises a gripping, action-packed finale set 17 years after the events of Part Two. Timothée Chalamet returns as a visibly weathered Paul Atreides, scarred, powerful, and grappling with the consequences of empire, alongside Zendaya’s Chani, with hints of a rekindled romance and even potential babies on the way. Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Rebecca Ferguson are back, joined by exciting new additions including Robert Pattinson as the sinister platinum-haired villain Scytale and Jason Momoa reprising his role as the reincarnated Duncan Idaho. Villeneuve describes this instalment as “a thriller, action-packed and tense, more muscular” than its predecessors, adapting Frank Herbert’s notoriously complex 1969 novel Dune: Messiah with bold creative changes. Given that Part Two grossed over $715 million worldwide and earned five Oscar nominations, anticipation for this epic conclusion couldn’t be higher.
